My name is Caroline Hall. I grew up in a small town in New Hampshire and left to study Anthropology and Theatre at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I went to graduate school at The A.R.T. Institute at Harvard University to study acting and lived in NYC for a few years after graduation, temping and doing Off-Off Broadway plays, independent films and regional theatre around the country. I went back to The A.R.T. and joined the Repertory Company where I did lots of modern and classical plays before returning to NYC to get married and have a baby. When I moved to Los Angeles, I was 36 years old and every agent I met told me I was too old to get work in LA! I wasn’t that upset honestly because all I wanted to do was spend time with my 2 year old daughter…well, I was a little upset, because I still needed to make a living. I have kept at it and done guest spots on TV shows like Parks and Recreation, Monk, The Bridge, and Fresh Off The Boat and somehow miraculously shot over 40 national commercials where I usually play confused and/or depressed office workers and moms. I am turning 48 soon and my daughter is 14. I’m hoping this blog will help me find some other way to be productive in the second half (last third?!!) of my life or at least get some recommendations for what to watch on Netflix. I love books, movies, travel, food and design so hopefully this whole endeavor won’t just be about peri-menopause. Rock it out people, peace and lots of love, Caroline
